Cain141 from the US Xbox 360 forum

First of many US forum members. Lets see what he has to say:

Please tell us a little about yourself, and do not hold back with the    nitty gritty details?

Well, it all started when I was born… no one wants to hear ALL that, so let me skip to the interesting part…  The End. Well, maybe I’ll go backward a bit more then. I’m 18 and I live in Florida. I’m an avid gamer, who thoroughly enjoys my Xbox 360. I’m also currently serving as the Editor in Chief over at www.myarcadeplanet.com. I rather excited about that site, due to the fact I can now fuse writing with gaming, both of which I enjoy.

Please explain your choice of Gamertag, and do you still think it is a    good tag to have?

I’ve been using Cain as my Gamertag for longer than I can remember. You can trace its origin back to the most shoplifted book in the world: The Bible. I stole it from the story of Cain and Abel. If you think about it logically, Cain would have killed the one of largest if not the largest percentage of humanity ever. But the main reason I took it was that it is said he was marked by God, so that he could not be killed. In my opinion that makes for one heck of an FPS Tag.

How do you keep a balance between reality and unreality? I.e. your    everyday life and your time you spend on your 360 and the forums.

What is this life you speak of? I actually started to grace the forums with my presence (lol right),  while working for call center. I had way to much free time with that job, and I soon become a regular over at xbox.com. After I finally left that job, I continued on with the forums. In general, I tend to surf around the forums while doing something else, such as watching TV or talking to friends online.

Within the Xbox360 and forum community, where do you see    yourself? How do you think others perceive you within the    community?

I would like to think of myself as beneficial member to this community. I know a few months back, I used to joke saying I was the unofficial US Xbox Ambassador to the UK, but I haven’t had as much time to scroll around the UK forums lately, due to work with myarcadeplanet.com and my clan Tarsajuma.

Without getting into personal details, what was the worst thing you    have experienced within the Xbox 360 community, and could there    have been a way to stop such an event, or to prevent such an event    happening again in the future?

The worst I’ve seen was your basic everyday flame war. In general, I tend to forget that bad sides to people and focus more on the positive. Some of the worst things I ever seen though, came out of the Call of Duty 2 clan section. I think some of these people actually thought we were at war. I’m really excited about some of the new additions to the moderation team. I’m sure they all will do a good job. One of which is a friend of mine named Crotech, who also works with me over at myarcadeplanet.com.

Again, without getting into personal details, what was the best thing    you have experienced within the Xbox360 community? And could    this event be used in the future to help the community in the future?

One thing I love about the community, is all the people who put in extra effort to write up guides and FAQ’s for games. Those guys are awesome. The forums are basically your very own free strategies guide. Despite its’ magnitude, xbox.com still manages to seem like a small tight nit community of gamers.

Looking at the current Xbox 360 forums, what do you think could be    added or changed to make them a much more pleasant and helpful    place to visit?  Please compare both the UK and US forums if you    wish.

Asking the UK and US forums together is like comparing night and day. Often times, I think that you all [UK] seem to maintain at least a basic code of chivalry and level of respect, something that is often missing on the US front. It often reminds me why we as Americans often have a bad image with the rest of the world. Hopefully, we can change that image; even if it only impacts one person at a time.

Are there any people that stand out across the whole Xbox 360    community that you think deserves a mention and if so, why?

Master Toppo- This kid is probably one of the most amazing I have ever met online. He is an amazing example of how young age does not equate with ignorance and rudeness, and he is a wonderful representative of the UK.

Crotech- Without him, I probably would not have come in contact with the folks over at myarcadeplanet.com. He has also pushed me toward increasing the quality of my posts.

TSJ Konkins- Has almost single handedly kept my clan afloat. Has brilliant management skills and is a great guy.

Also all the members of myarcadeplanet.com and everyone else at TSJ, you guys are awesome.

Outside of the Xbox360 and the forums, what kind of things do you    do in your everyday life?

Most of my life seems dominated my school, at least for two more months. Other than that, I like to hang out with friends. Pretty much the same as every other guy my age.

Do you use your Xbox360 often and if so how often? Please include    any usage, games, music or other.

Unfortunately, I don’t play near as much as I wish I could. Right now I’m delving into the Locust tunnels with Gears of War and rekindleling my love for Lord of the Rings with Battle for Middle Earth 2.

Please provide a photo of your current setup, and then
include a description of what you would like to have if money was    not an option and what you are most looking forward to as far as
hardware, accessories and future 360 add-ons go.

Well my setup is really, really lame lol, so I don’t think you need a picture. I have a 7 year old, normal 27 inch TV screen and my Xbox.

What is your favourite game on the Xbox 360? Please using    Windows Paint, draw your favourite scene from that game and    explain why you chose it

Guess!

What is your favourite game of all time, across all platforms you    have owned? Again please using Windows Paint, draw your    favourite scene from that game and explain why you chose it.

Guess!

With Xbox LIVE doing so well and with so many online gamers,
Apart from LIVEanywhere, what could Microsoft possibly do to    improve this service even further?

I’m a huge fan of Xbox live. I absolutely love it.  I would like to see more done with the Xbox ambassadors program.  I think that program has the potential to help he community drastically.

What do you think of the new upcoming LIVEanywhere from    Microsoft and it’s combining of the Xbox 360, PC and mobile
phones and where do you see gaming in general heading in the
   next few years?

I think it’s a really cool concept, but I’m slightly worried about the implementation of it. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out.

Please could you give us your own feelings on where you think    gaming as a whole is heading and how it might look to us all in the    distant future?

I think the Wii has set a new standard of innovation. The motion sensing aspect really intrigues me. I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

Do you have anything else that you would like to add to this    interview that could possibly be of interest to anyone reading this?

Well, any one who is looking for a good place to discuss gaming news, reviews, and previews should check out www.myarcadeplanet.com. It’s an awesome site, and I am really proud of the progress we have made with it.

Finally, please rate yourself out of ten for each of the following    headings:
